Feb 12, 2026 8:04 AM

The Galaxy S23 Ultra packs a behemoth 5,000 mAh battery, while some might complain that it is still the same as its predecessor. The flagship has better overall endurance thanks to a slew of software optimization and a more efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 under the hood. This combined quickly makes the phone a much better offering for those looking for a full day of use.

Still, some users have talked about how their Galaxy S23 Ultra does not last as long as one would want. Therefore, we are bringing some Galaxy S23 Ultra tips and tricks to help you get the best battery out of your phone. The best thing? You do not need to root your phone to access and change the settings we will tell you.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra has a fantastic battery life, but you can make it even better

There are many ways to improve the battery on your Galaxy S23 Ultra, but these tips and tricks are here to ensure you know. All these settings will not require you to poke where you are not supposed to, so don't worry about it.

Note:You can use all these Galaxy S23 Ultra tips and tricks on Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ if you wish to optimize your battery even further.

1. Turn on Dark Mode on your Galaxy S23 Ultra

The first thing I will suggest to you is that you turn on dark mode on your Galaxy S23 Ultra. The phone uses an OLED display, meaning every time the wallpaper is set to something black or parts of the wallpaper are black, the pixels on your phone will turn off automatically, preserving the battery life. Here is how to turn on the dark mode.

Go toSettings. Then head toDisplay.Once you are there, you will see an option betweenLightandDark.Simply choose the latter.

That's it; you are done. However, if you want to schedule the dark mode to turn on at a specific time, simply tap Dark mode settingsand make your adjustments accordingly.

2. Change screen resolution and refresh rate on Galaxy S23 Ultra

The Galaxy S23 Ultra uses an LTPO OLED panel that allows it to drop the refresh rate all the way down to 1Hz in case you are viewing a document or images. However, the phone runs at a 120Hz refresh rate in other situations. You can turn down the refresh rate to 60Hz, and change the resolution to FHD+. The latter doesn't make a difference, but by turning down the refresh rate, you will not experience the same smoothness in scrolling. Still, the steps of how to do it are below.

Go toSettings.Head to Display.Tap onMotion smoothness, and set it to Standard. Then go back to Display, look forScreen resolution, and tap it.Choose theFHD+and hitApply.

However, if you think 60Hz is not something you want, then you can go back toMotion smoothnessand turn onAdaptive. For the same, smooth experience.

3. Keep adaptive brightness turned on

The next tip that I have for you on your Galaxy S23 Ultra refers to turning on the adaptive brightness. I do understand that this is not preferred by all the users, but the phone has excellent viewing angles and legibility to the point that you will not need to have maxed-out brightness at all times, and considering how the panel does sip a significant chunk of battery, it is better to set it to adaptive, so it can adjust according to the surroundings.

Go toDisplay. Tap the Adaptive brightness toggle.

4. Turn off Always-On-Display on Galaxy S23 Ultra

Samsung has been doing Always-on-Display some proper justice, and it has only improved with One UI 5.1 and the Galaxy S23 Ultra. However, it is not ideal for those who want to get the best battery life out of their phones. Of course, even partially, when the display panel is on, it does end up sipping some battery. Ideally, this shouldn't matter, but for those who prefer charging their device to full before going to sleep, the AOD does take a hit on the battery. Here is how you can turn it off.

Go to Settings. From there, head to the Lock screenmenu.Turn off theAlways on Displaytoggle.

5. Enabling Wi-Fi power saving mode in Galaxy S23 Ultra

Samsung has been adding some nifty features in One UI, and the Wi-Fi power-saving mode is one of them. By turning this feature on, the Wi-Fi analyses the traffic patterns and reduces the battery that is used. I was a bit skeptical because I was under the impression that I might lose the connection when my phone is in a sleeping state, but no such thing happened, and it is a great way to preserve some extra battery on your Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Go toSettings.Tap on Connections. Then tap onWi-Fi.Once there, tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner and choose Intelligent Wi-Fi.Now look for the Wi-Fi power saving modetoggle and turn it on.

6. Disabling Nearby Device Scanning on Galaxy S23 Ultra

Nearby Share or Device Scanning is a handy feature introduced with Android a while back. It allows your device to keep scanning for devices even when Bluetooth is turned off and prompts you to connect whenever a supported device, such as the wearable, is close. However, if you don't use any wearables or just don't need this feature, it can be turned off on your Galaxy S23 Ultra. Here is how.

Go toSettings.Tap onConnections.Tap on More connection settingsTurn off the Nearby device scanningtoggle.

7. Turn on Light Performance Mode

The Galaxy S23 Ultra, much like its foldable brethren, comes with a Light Performance mode that you can turn on for better battery efficiency. Thankfully, testing has revealed that the mode does not really have a negative effect on how the phone works and, therefore, is safe to turn on. Here is how you can turn the mode on.

Go toSettings.Scroll down to Battery and device care.Tap on theBattery. Now, tap onMore battery settingsUnderAdaptivebattery, you will see the Performance profile, tap that and set it toLight.

There you have it, folks. These are all the best Galaxy S23 Ultra tips and tricks guaranteed to make your phone's battery last even longer. If you think we have missed out on some, please let us know.
