Much like the previous version of the operating system, the Android Q Beta versions were limited to the Pixel series phones. But, thanks to Project Treble, it is now possible for Google to release it for more devices. Even the Android Pie beta was available for a host of non-Pixel devices a few weeks after its initial release. At Google I/O, the company has announced that today’s third Beta release will bring Android Q to fifteen more devices, like OnePlus 6T and Sony Xperia XZ3.

Android Q Beta 3 brings a handful of new features to the platform, including Dark Mode and a host of changes in permissions. Live Caption is another interesting feature that provides real-time translation for audio playing out of a video. The best part is, it is all done locally and doesn't require an internet connection.

Here are some of the changes that we've seen in the previous versions of the Android Q betas.The full list includes the latest generation of devices from OEMs that featured in the Android P beta, like OnePlus and Sony.

One of the surprises on this list is definitely the Essential Phone. The device may be more than two years old but still continues to receive the latest betas. It's surprising to see some big name brands such as Samsung missing from the list. Granted that OneUI is one of the more customization-heavy Android forks out there, but so is EMUI.

There are no links available to sideload the beta just yet. We can expect them to show up in the coming weeks, as OEMs release them. The ones for Pixels should be up shortly and I'll update the article when they're up.
