Feb 13, 2026 1:39 AM

If there's one graphic card i am personally looking forward to, its the GeForce GTX 780 Lightning from MSI. The MSI GeForce GTX 780 Lightning has been teased by MSI on their facebook page and a few hours ago, they also showcased the first performance preview of the upcoming graphics card.

Update: More pictures can be found at the end of this article. The pictures were uploaded on HWBot by Elmor showcasing the LN2 cooled GTX 780 Lightning along with a full overview of the clocks and performance.

GTX 780 Lightning Teaser

MSI Teases GeForce GTX 780 Lightning Performance - Fastest GTX 780, by Far!

The GeForce GTX 780 Lightning which was teased in a teaser video a few weeks back would arrive on 7th August. The new GeForce GTX 780 Lightning would feature the GK110-300-A2 Kepler core holding 2304 Cores, 192 TMUs and 48 ROPS plus a 3 GB GDDR5 memory interface running along a 384-bit interface. The card would feature a massive factory overclock and has a new backplate and shroud design which probably means that its making use of the next iteration of the MSI's renowned Twin Frozr cooling solution, Twin Frozr V.

GTX 780 Lightning Reactor

We have two images that were teased by MSI a while back, one shows the LIGHTNING logo embedded on the cooler shroud, i think it'll probably be backlit by yellow color of the cooler. Next up, we see the MSI's recently introduced reactor module on the back of the PCB. To note, MSI mentions that this is an upgraded version of the reactor module. The Reactor module is a small PCB board that increase current volume, offers better stability and reduces noise emitted by the PWM supply. Looking forward to see what the next iteration of this small device has to offer.

GTX 780 Lightning 3DMark11

So as far as the performance is concerned, the GeForce GTX 780 Lightning was tested in 3DMark 11 by MSI's in-house overclocker "Elmor" who broke 20,195 Performance points which is pretty impressive for a GTX 780 making it the fastest in the world. MSI themselves call it the fastest GeForce GTX 780 in the world so far but not mentioned whether these are the stock or overclocked results. The price would be set at a premium range since this an absolute premium card by MSI so expect around $700 + pricing.
