X has introduced two new subscription tiers coupled with new features for each model. Formerly known as Twitter, X launched a Basic tier that costs $3 per month and a new Premium+ tier that costs $16. However, the standard Premium tier is still the default option for users. X has been readjusting the prices and features for its subscription tiers for some time, and it appears that the company has finally decided on the cost and the features that come with it.
X has announced new Premium+ and Basic tiers with dedicated features
If you are not familiar with X's basic $3 monthly subscription tier, it does not get you a verification checkmark. However, the company has added some basic features to the mix. You will have the option to post longer tweets, edit tweets, themes, and custom app icons. However, the basic plan does not get rid of ads. While the features are pretty basic, the company has reserved high-end features for the Premium+ model.
Additionally, the company has also introduced a new $16 per month subscription tier that gets you everything the company is offering. One of the most essential features of the Premium+ subscription model is the ad-free experience in the Following and For You tabs. This will allow you to scroll and surf the platform without distractions.
The $8 subscription tier gives users access to many features, including the verification checkmark, which most users would be excited to get. You also get all the features of the Basic plan minus the ad-free experience of the Premium+ tier. You can get one of the plans as a monthly subscription. You also have the option to pay annually for one of the subscriptions. Paying annually would get you an estimated 12 percent discount on the total cost compared to monthly payments.
If interested, you can subscribe to the new Basic, Premium, and Premium+ tiers through the X app on your iPhone or iPad. However, the subscription will cost you a 30 percent higher price for Apple's commission. Henceforth, it would be wise to subscribe through X's main website.
While the Premium+ model gives users an ad-free experience, most users would be interested in the Basic plan with the ability to edit and post longer tweets. Customers who use X as their primary social media app could benefit from the ad-free experience, but the $16 subscription price is quite expensive. Nonetheless, it all boils down to your preferences.
