Yalu iOS 10.1.1 Jailbreak for iPhone 7 & 7 Plus Will Arrive Eventually-April 2024
Apr 30, 2025 3:40 PM

For those wondering when they will be able to jailbreak iOS 10.1.1 on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, you'll be pleased to learn that Yalu will add support for those aforementioned devices at some point in the future.

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus Support for iOS 10.1.1 Jailbreak Will be Added At 'Some Point' - No iOS 10.2 Support Just Yet

The Yalu jailbreak is currently sitting onbeta 7, and it supports Apple's iOS 10.2 firmware. In fact, this version of Yalu even added support for a wide variety of devices such as iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE and more. But to everyone's surprise, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were missing from the list of supported devices, once again.

Thankfully, the developer behind the jailbreak, Luca Tudesco, has confirmed that support for Apple's latest flagship handsets will be added at some point in the future. So basically, all those who might have lost hope should see this is a light at the end of the tunnel. There's a small catch though: the jailbreak will be supported on iOS 10.1.1, not iOS 10.2.

To clear it up: Yalu1011 for iPhone 7 will be updated at some point. Just not a priority right now. Got stuff to do.

It is worth noting here that the Yalu jailbreak issemi-untethered is nature. This means you have to jailbreak your device every single time, if it restarts for some reason. Also, Apple has stopped signing iOS 10.2 as well. If you are currently sitting on iOS 10.2.1 and were hoping to downgrade and jailbreak your device, then you are completely out of luck as the firmware signing window has been closed.

Given that you are sitting on iOS 10.2, then it's highly recommended that you go ahead and save your device's SHSH2 blobs first. This will, at some point in the future, ensure unsigned firmware downgrades when needed. Also, if you have an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, then make sure you do not attempt to jailbreak your device thinking it would go through fine. Let the updated version of Yalu arrive first with support for the aforementioned devices, then take the plunge. There's no way you would want to lose your installation of iOS 10.1.1 for a few failed tries.
