Apple announced the new MacBook Pro models at its 'Scary Fast' event yesterday with the latest M3 series of chips. The company has lowered the price of its 14-inch MacBook Pro from $1,999 to $1,599. However, the base 14-inch MacBook Pro now features an M3 chip instead of an M3 Pro chip. Nonetheless, you are getting the new design and a better display. The 16-inch MacBook Pro comes with an M3 Pro chip that starts from $2,499. If you plan to get the model with the highest specifications and upgrades, you must shed a whopping $7,200.
Apple's new 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Max chip can cost up to $7,200 if you choose the variant with the highest specifications
Even though Apple has introduced a new Space Black color option with the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, the M3 variant is only available with the Space Gray and Silver options. To get the new color options, you will at least have to spend $1,999 for the M3 Pro version of the 14-inch MacBook Pro. If you want to get the maxed-out version of the new models, you will have to spend $7,200 without AppleCare+. Check out the breakdown of the total cost below.
The highest configuration model of the 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Max chip is priced at $4,000 and comes with a 16-core CPU and a 40-core GPU coupled with 48GB of Unified memory and 1TB of SSD storage. You can upgrade the memory to 128GB for another $1,000, and adding 8TB of storage capacity will cost another $2,200. Altogether, you will have to spend a whopping $7,200.
In contrast to the M3 Max chip, the M3 chip maxes out at 24GB of Unified Memory, and the M3 Pro chip maxes out at 36GB of Unified Memory. You can pre-order the new MacBook Pro models with the M3 series of chips from Apple's online store.
