During itsFinancial Analyst Day event, AMD unveiled the 3DMark Performance numbers of its upcoming Trinity based A6 ULV (Ultra-Low Voltage) and A10 (Low Voltage) Series accelerated processing units aimed towardsUltrathin notebooks.

It was reported by us earlier that AMD's Trinity APU would feature the second generation DX11 GPU offering a tremendous uplift in graphics and compute performance. A 50% increase is expected over Llano 35W APU and upto 25% performance increase in processing power due to the new Piledriver x86 Cores.

The presentation slides also revealed 3DMark Vantage performance of Trinity 17W ULV against a Sandy Bridge Core i5 2537M ULV (17W). The Sandy Bridge was able to score 1158 3DMarks while the Trinity A6 scored 2355 3DMarks which means a 103% Performance increase. Taking in note the 30% graphics improvement of ivy bridge over sandy parts equals to a 1505 3DMarks on the Ivy Bridge based ULV Processor. The Trinity APU would still be able to offer a 56% improvement over the Ivy Bridge part.

Also the Low Voltage A10 Series have a 3DMark score of 3600 which is 139% better than the projected Ivy Bridge score, Pretty awesome for sure. The Graphics performance on the new Trinity APU's sounds promising howeverIntel will clearly have an edge with performance per core meaning faster single threaded performance while trinity would show better results inMulti-threaded applications.
