Despite not having refreshed its AirPort lineup of routers, Apple continues to rank the highest in customer satisfaction among wireless router manufacturers, gaining the number one position against the likes of ASUS and Linksys, which is extremely impressive, seeing as how the aforementioned names are quite popular when it comes to reliable and powerful routers.

New Study Shows That Apple’s AirPort Router Family Excels in a Total of 10 Factors Measured When It Comes to Customer Satisfaction

The new study comes a few days before a report came out that Apple was going to stop producing its AirPort routers and set its engineers towards another consumer product. This is quite a shame, especially after having used the AirPort Extreme, I have to say that I am more than satisfied with the product I paid for.

If only Apple had stuck around in this market and introduced a better performing router, it could have matched the speeds and range of the current generation lineup from its competitors. Regardless, the study was carried out by J.D. Power today and it measured the report based on responses from 3,037 consumers. The report was then divided into 10 factors, with the list provided below starting from the ‘most important’.

Apple beat all other wireless router vendors with a score of 876 out of 1000 points. It managed to zip past ASUS, which is a renowned brand when it comes to designing the most crazy-looking and high-performing routers. The Taiwanese manufacturer garnered a score of 860, while D-Link came in at 3rd with a score of 856, and TP-Link at 854. This might be surprising to some readers, but Apple was the only company to receive a 5-star Power Circle consumer rating, which places it ‘among the best’ according to J.D. Power.

Apple hasn’t made a statement out to the public, but because the company has not introduced a newer model in quite a while, it could mean curtains for this particular division.
