Apple today has announced the new generation of the 24-inch iMac. The refresh is coming three years since the launch of the M1 iMac, and the new version actually brings the same design as the previous one, but the biggest difference here is the new M3 chipset, which you can read all about here.
The new 24-inch iMac gets a much-needed refresh, making it the best all-in-one computer in the market
Now, looking at the design of the new iMac, you are looking at the same design as before, which is not really a bad thing as Apple claims that this is the best all-in-one in the world. With that said, there are a few changes to the new M3 iMac. For starters, you are looking at a 24-inch display with a 4.5K display, and of course, the biggest difference is the new M3 chip. The display on the new iMac offers 11.3 million pixels with a P3 wide color gamut, over a billion colors, and a respectable 500 nits of brightness, which should be more than enough for content consumption and creation.
With the new iMac, you are also getting better connectivity in the shape of Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, up to four USB Type-C ports, two of which are Thunderbolt ports, Gigabit Ethernet support on select models, and support for up to 6K displays, making it one of the best all-in-ones that you can get your hands on.
Getting into some details about the new M3 chipset, it is based on the A17 Pro that is found in the iPhone 15 series, and it is the first Apple chip that is designed specifically for Macs and is fabricated on a 3nm architecture. Apple claims that the new M3 chipset powering the iMac and MacBooks consumes less power than the M1 and M2 chips that came before and offers more performance. For starters, the base mode of the new iMac is going to bring an 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU for those who are looking for more intensive tasks.
For the pricing and availability, Apple claims that the new M3 iMac is available to order starting today and will start hitting the shelves on November 7th, later this year. The base variant is going to cost you $1,299 and is available in green, pink, blue, and silver. It features an 8-core CPU, 8GB of unified memory, 256GB SSD, two Thunderbolt ports, a Magic Keyboard, and a Magic Mouse.

If you are looking to get your hands on a higher-end variant with a 10-core GPU, then you are going to have to spend $1,499, and this version of the iMac is available in green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver. It features an 8-core CPU, 8GB of unified memory, 256GB SSD, two Thunderbolt ports, two additional USB 3 ports, a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID, Magic Mouse, and Gigabit Ethernet.
