Apple To Launch Cheaper Variant Of Vision Pro Headset By The End Of 2025-July 2024
Jul 30, 2025 7:03 AM

Apple's Vision Pro headset has gathered a lot of traction since its announcement. The design, performance, and other capabilities of the headset have received praise from the tech community. However, the price of the headset is something that users are not happy about. It was initially rumored that the Vision Pro was expected to feature a $3,000 price tag. However, Apple took a step further than our speculation and set a $3,499 price tag. It is now being reported that Apple is working on a cheaper version of the Vision Pro headset, which will be aimed at the masses, and the launch could happen by the end of 2025.

Apple's Cheaper Vision Pro headset to launch by the end of 2025 and could be called the 'Apple Vision One'

Mark Gurman stated in his latest Power On newsletter that Apple is working on a cheaper variant of the Vision Pro which will potentially launch by the end of 2025. It was reported over the weekend that if the company plans to unveil an affordable version of the headset, there are bound to be some compromises. Gurman believes that the dual 4K microLED displays inside the Vision Pro are one of the most expensive components.

Other than a lower-resolution display, the analyst also coins that the cheaper Vision Pro could come with fewer sensors and a slower processor. As for the build quality, the cheaper Vision Pro headset could miss out on the premium headband in favor of a cheaper option. Another feature that Guman discussed was the removal of the Spatial Audio feature. All of these compromises will help the price of the budget headset to come down.

Apple Cheaper Vision Pro Headset Launch

Apple was initially planning to sell a million units of the Vision Pro. Latest reports now speculate that the company is seemingly lowering its expectations further. Before the headset's launch, it was noted that Apple's Vision Pro headset would be oriented toward developers, content creators, and professionals. While the device is yet to go on sale, it is up to developers to utilize the AR framework to develop different applications and use cases for the headset.

This is not the first time that we are hearing details on a budget Vision Pro headset. Reports emerged in January suggesting that Apple will launch a cheaper version of the Vision Pro. Gurman suggests that Apple's cheaper option could be called the 'Apple Vision One' or the 'Apple Vision'. Take note that it is too early to conclude, and the final word rests with Apple.
