Apple Vision Pro Developer Kits Are Now Available, Here Is How To Get Yours-February 2024
Feb 12, 2026 7:55 AM

The Apple Vision Pro for consumers is said to arrive early next year, but if you are a developer, then you can get your hands on it to start making and testing apps on the company’s latest visionOS platform. On Apple’s website, the details are mentioned that developers will be loaned a developer kit so they can prepare their apps to launch on the new App Store. Those who wish to apply can check the following details while also signing into their developer account.

“Submit a brief application for a Vision Pro developer kit. You’ll need to be an Account Holder in the Apple Developer Program, provide details about your team’s development skills and existing apps, and agree to the terms and conditions. Applications will be reviewed and priority will be given to applicants creating an app that takes advantage of visionOS features and capabilities.”

Aside from being loaned an Apple Vision Pro, developers will receive help with setting up the device for the first time, along with check-ins with Apple experts for UI design, development guidance, and more. Every developer who is sent a kit will also be provided with two code-level support requests for troubleshooting code issues.

Since the company owns every Apple Vision Pro, they need to be handled with proper care and used accordingly. Apple states that the AR headset needs to be placed in a secure and private workspace that is only accessible to the developers that were approved to work with one. It will not be surprising to hear that Apple takes regular updates from the developers who are using the Vision Pro to make apps, along with returning the device at the company’s request.

Apple has not mentioned how many developer kits have been signed up for, but according to a previous report, the Apple Vision Pro’s success depends on third-party apps. Developerscannot find sufficient encouragement to make programs for the head-mounted wearable as the incentive is just not present. It is said that only 500,000 units of the Apple Vision Pro units will be shipped next year, so it is a shaky start for a $3,499 product.
