Today, ASUS has officially launched its flagship and fastest GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card yet, the ROG MATRIX Platinum. The card pushes everything to the extreme in a gorgeous liquid-cooled and compact design that comes at a massively premium price. The highlighted features of the variant include:

We have been hearing about ASUS's ROG MATRIX Platinum GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card ever since it was unveiled at Computex 2023 where we did get a close-up but today, we get to learn all the bits and pieces about this card. Starting off with the specifications, the ASUS GeForce RTX 4090 ROG MATRIX Platinum comes with the NVIDIA AD102 GPU with 16,384 CUDA cores, 24 GB GDDR6X memory, & absolutely insane GPU clocks of up to 2700 MHz (OC Mode) & 2670 MHz (Default). The memory speeds are maintained at 21 Gbps.

The ASUS GeForce RTX 4090 ROG MATRIX Platinum makes use of a fully custom PCB and cooling design. The VRM on the card includes a 28-phase design which is complemented by 15K caps and other quality components. The power is provided by a single 16-pin 12VHPWR connector and using the ASUS GPU Tweak III utility, you can easily detect anomalies across the power pins to ensure the connector is plugged in correctly. It will also show the usage of the card on different power levels in the "Mileage" tab.

The custom ROG MATRIX Platinum design is rated to offer a 500W Default and 600W OC power limit. This is in line with the maximum power draw that a single 16-pin connector can provide but extreme overclockers have already pushed the card beyond its limits, breaking past the 4 GHz OC barrier, along with achieving thehighest 3DMark Fire Strike Extremescore.

As for the design of the card, the ROG MATRIX Platinum is as long as any other GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card but comes in a dual-frame body that has an exterior frame for visuals and an inner frame that actually houses the pump. There are two massive tubes leading in the shroud which houses the internal cooling assembly and cold plate. The two tubes feature extra long and are nicely braided for higher durability. These two tubes lead into the 360mm radiator which is cooled by ASUS's MF-12S fans.

The graphics card comes with some nice and subtle ARGB accent LEDs in the inner sides of the frame and has a back that makes use of a mirror finish. The front has the RGB-illuminated ROG and MATRIX logos too.

Now for the price, ASUS has listed the ROG MATRIX Platinum for $3200 US which makes it the most expensive custom design to date. The only card that can manage to break the price record might be the Colorful iGame KUDAN but we haven't seen that variant launch yet. The pricing is exactly 2X as much as the MSRP for the GeForce RTX 4090 and the card is also a limited edition unit with one variant that will be signed by NVIDIA's CEO, Jensen Huang, and offered as a charity auction through this link.
