May 1, 2025 8:05 PM

Apple's stock calendar app in iOS is great and all, but it fails to deliver some productive features. This week, Apple is giving away Readdle's Calendar 5 app as its free app of the week promotion. This means that starting today, you can download the Calendar 5 app on your iOS device absolutely free of charge. However, be sure to download this week, otherwise it would return to its original price.

Calendar 5 Is Apple's New Free App Of The Week

So, if you think the stock calendar app on your iPhone or iPad does not fulfill your needs, be sure to check out Calendar 5. The app supports a variety of features that are not present on the stock iOS calendar app. The app features a built-in task and event manager, native Google Calendar sync support and much more.

Calendar 5

Calendar 5 is normally priced at a hefty $6.99 and marks the first time the app has gone free in years after Readdle's two-day promotion back in May of 2014. The all around productivity app is one of the best looking apps on the market and only a few other apps succeed to deliver the satisfaction derived as Calendar 5. The design and layout is elegant, simple and easy on the eyes. The controls have been optimized with gesture support as well.

The best part about the app is its ability to work seamlessly with the stock Calendar app, Reminder app and the Google Calendar. Adding a new event is a piece of cake with Calendar 5's smart-type auto detection feature. This is because the app uses natural language processing. For instance, if you want to create an event, just type "Meet John at Starbucks on Sunday" then it will automatically recognize the natural language and create an event.

Calendar 5

Calendar 5 is definitely one of the best calendar apps on the App Store. The app holds a four and a half star rating on the App Store consistently. Th app requires an iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch running iOS 8 or above. The only down side of the app is the absence of a native Apple Watch app. However, it isn't that much of a deal if you use your iPhone as your primary device to check calendar entries. Moreover, the app is optimized to work in French, English, German, Japanese, Italian, Simplifies Chinese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

So lets just not wait for the grass to grow, head to the App Store and download Calendar 5 as Apple's free App of the Week. As for now, what do you guys think about this amazing calendar app? Let us know in the comments.
