Windows 10's newest version is expected to release this week, maybe even today (it's here!). If you are excited to get your hands on the new features, before jumping on the installation process, make sure your machine can actually run the latest operating system version. The new version (Redstone 4 branch) brings several new features, including Timeline, Diagnostic Data Viewer, extended HDR support, Game Bar and Cortana improvements, and more Fluent Design changes. If you want to experience the new Windows 10,take a look at this checklist of minimum Windows 10 1803 system requirements.

Windows 10 1803 System Requirements (no changes to minimum specs)

Following is the complete checklist of all the minimum hardware requirements so you know what your computer should have beforeyou install Windows 10 April 2018 Update. It's not like Microsoft has created a long list of prerequisites as the checklist is quite short for you to install the very latest edition of Windows 10 on your system. (How will a minimum spec'ed machineactually perform in real life remains to be seen.)

Followingare all the Windows 10April 2018Update system requirements.

RAM1GB for 32 bit2GB for 64 bitHard disk space16 GB for 32 bit20 GB for 64 bitCPU: 1GHzor fasterScreen resolution:800x 600Graphics:Microsoft DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driverInternet access

You can check these requirements to make sure that your PC or tablet meets the minimum system requirements for Windows 10 1803 April 2018 Update. Remember, these are the exact same specs that Microsoft had outlined for the original Windows 10 version.

However, note that the above requirements are the very basic prerequisites to make sure that Windows 10 works on your computer. This is in no way a guide to help you get support for specific programs or more demanding experiences as there might be some compatibility issues, especially with the all-new Windows Mixed Reality trend. Back with the release of the Windows 10 Creators Update, Microsoft had recommendedat least 4GB of RAM and at least a 4th-generation Intel processor. Some Windows 10 features also require special hardware requirements - for example, Windows Hello needs an infrared camera to work. So, take this guide for the basic functionality of the operating system only.

Happy to get the new Windows 10 update? What features are you looking forward to the most?

If not, here is how to temporarily delay the incoming update
