Intel has started planning to launch a few new processors in its mainstream performance MS2 market segment. Intel will launch its new desktop processor "Core i5 760" which will replace the Core i5 750 which is clocked at 2.66Ghz (3.2Ghz Turbo Boost).

The new Processor will be compatible with the LGA 1156 socket and clocked at 2.8Ghz which is faster than the i5 750 while having the same 8Mb of cache memory. The CPU has four cores and fore threads and supports DDR3 1066 and 1333. The TDP of the new CPU is set at 95W.

But things are not that simple as Intel already planned to see its unlocked Core i5 655K CPUs in the same market segment which is clocked at 3.2Ghz and reaches 3.46 Ghz in Turbo Boost mode. It currently sells for some €215 here. In USA this CPU sells for 210 to $220 + shipping and tax if it applies, here.

The price of the new i5 760 CPU is set at 199$ while the i5 750 sells for €177 here. The CPU will be launched in Q3 of this year.
