Cyanogen Partners With Microsoft To Offer Bundled Apps And More-May 2024

Cyanogen Inc has taken an interesting step towards the betterment of its OS by announcing partnership with Microsoft. The two tech giants have a very interesting relationship that will enhance utility on Cyanogen OS. Microsoft is strategically moving its bundled apps on Cyanogen OS that will come pre-loaded. After funding its way into Cyanogen, Microsoft has taken Android away from Google to some extent. Its seems as though Microsoft is working with an alternative Android manufacturer to down-show Google in its own game. Speculations apart, lets move ahead and see what Cyanogen will have in Store for its users.

Cyanogen OS users in its future iterations will come up with a bundle of Microsoft's bundled applications such as OneDrive, Skype, Outlook, OneNoe and Microsoft Office. In addition to these, Cyanogen will also be part of Bing Search results. The integration of Microsoft apps and services are not subject to be downloaded via Google Play Store but the real collaboration will be down to the roots of Cyanogen OS.

Microsoft To Build Native Integration For Cyanogen OS

Even though the previous rumors of Microsoft to buy Cyanogen's stakes were false, the two giants are somewhat a thing together when we speak of teaming up. Microsoft's aim to increase its milestones in Android territory is one of the goals why this partnership took place on the first place. Since Microsoft has a vital role to play in Android manufacturing, Microsoft inherits a certain amount of fee on each of the licenses it provides which estimates up to more than 200 patents to make an android smartphone run.

The native integration that Microsoft will build in the Cyanogen OS is part of this collaboration. Cyanogen Inc CEO, Kirt McMaster portrayed his views about the partnership with Microsoft in the following words:

This partnership has an important role to play in its race to be the only standalone for Android. Cyanogen is in action for other programs as well that will enable it move closer to its goals.
