Today, Apple has seen fit to release iOS 16.6.1, iPadOS 16.6.1, watchOS 9.6.2, and macOS Ventura 13.5.2 to the general public, and you can download it right now on compatible devices. The latest updates are potentially the last updates before Apple officially releases iOS 17 and other updates later this month. The aforementioned updates feature a plethora of bug fixes and performance enhancements.

Apple has released iOS 16.6.1, watchOS 9.6.2, and macOS 13.5.2 to the general public

If you want to install the latest iOS 16.6.1 and iPadOS 16..6.1 on your compatible iPhone and iPad, simply head over to Settings > General > Software Update and install the latest build by following on-screen instructions. iOS 16.6.1 brings a plethora of bug fixes and security enhancements for a smooth and secure user experience.

Besides iOS 16.6.1, Apple has also released watchOS 9.6.2 for your Apple Watch. To install the latest update, simply launch the dedicated Apple Watch app on your iPhone, head over to General > Software Update, and install the latest build on your Apple Watch. Make sure that your Apple Watch has over 50 percent battery life and is plugged in on a charger. Additionally, the wearable should also be in the range of your iPhone. Similar to iOS 16.6.1, watchOS 9.6.2 brings bug fixes and security updates to the table.

iOS 16.6.1, iPadOS 16.6.1, watchOS 9.6.2, macOS 13.5.2 released

Alongside iOS 16.6.1 and watchOS 9.6.2, Apple has also released macOS Ventura 13.5.2 to the general public. The latest update can be installed on compatible Macs through the Software Update mechanism in System Settings. Similar to iOS 16.6.2 and watchOS 9.6.2, macOS 13.5.2 is potentially the last update before Apple releases iOS 17 to the general public. The latest update features minor bug fixes and security updates for a fluid user experience. The update does not house any front-facing features.

As mentioned earlier, Apple will release iOS 17 later this month, with release candidate builds expected next week. iOS 17 is a major upgrade, considering the number of features it brings to the table. As for the latest iOS 16.6.1 update, it will potentially be the final update for iPhone X. From this point onwards, the iPhone 8 models and iPhone X will no longer receive feature updates.
