Apple will launch the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models later this year with a handful of changes in terms of design as well as functionality. While we are months away from launch, pouring leaks and rumors have bestowed us with a pretty good idea of what changes we can expect this year. With that said, dummy units of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models have surfaced on the internet, showcasing the design and dimensions of the forthcoming devices beforehand. Scroll down to read more details on the subject.

iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro dummy units compared against iPhone 14 models in a new video, shows all the changes that we should be looking forward to this year

The dummy units video of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models is shared by MacRumors, which highlights the design and changes expected for the devices based on recent leaks and rumors. It was originally coined that the iPhone 15 Pro models will come with solid-state buttons and a brand-new Action Button that will replace the Mute Switch. It was uncovered later on that Apple will reserve the solid-state buttons for the iPhone 16 Pro models while the forthcoming devices will feature physical Volume and Power buttons.

Starting off with the design, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro dummy units look petty similar to the current iPhone 14 lineup. From the camera layout to the chassis, the device will feature more or less the same size, and it is essentially very hard to differentiate between the two models. Nonetheless, the iPhone 15 models are speculated to feature comparatively curved corners on the back to make the device easier to hold for longer periods of time. However, it was previously reported that the iPhone 15 models will feature a vertical camera layout similar to the iPhone 12 lineup, while the camera sensors on the 'Pro' models will swap places to make room for the periscope lens.

On the front of the device, the entire iPhone 15 lineup will be streamlined with a Dynamic Island display. However, only the iPhone 15 Pro models will get an Always-On display. Apple has a lot planned for the Always-On capabilities of the iPhone as it is working on a smart display feature that will arrive with the launch of iOS 17. The dummy units also show USB-C on the iPhone 15 Pro models instead of a Lightning port which will be a more than welcome addition.

As for the buttons, the iPhone 15 Pro is seen to house an Apple Watch Ultra-like Action Button. The Action Button is slated to be customizable, with Apple potentially adding a wide range of options as shortcuts. For instance, the Action Button could be used as a shutter button to take pictures, mimicking a professional camera. Furthermore, the company can also introduce Accessibility features with the Action Button. While the latest hardware changes are great, it is unfortunate to say goodbye to the Mute Switch, which has been present on the iPhone since its debut. You can check out more details in the video embedded below:

As for the Volume Buttons, Apple was initially planning to incorporate a single elongated button with solid-state mechanics underneath. However, due to production issues and bugs, the plan was halted for next year. It is still too early to draw final conclusions as the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models are months away from launch.
