All you had to do was visit someone's profile, and the friend request would be sent. Now, of course, no one knew about it initially, and people just visited someone's profile for some information, then went back to their business, resulting in several friend requests lingering out in the open. The bug was fixed within a couple of days, and Facebook has commented on the matter.

Facebook mentions that they have not only fixed this bug from happening but also unsent all the requests that weren't accepted. The company suggests that users visit their activity log to see if the friend requests were sent or received to better understand the idea. However, nothing is left to worry about, as the bug has been fixed since then.

Whatever the case may be, Facebook users no longer have to worry about running into an issue as the company fixed the bug just hours after it surfaced. If anything, you should be able to use the app without worrying that a friend request might be sent without your knowledge. However, considering how these incidents happen all the time, and we normally don't look into them, I would highly suggest you keep an eye. Accidental friend requests are never fun, especially when you randomly get a message saying, "wyd" and you spend some time wondering who this person is.

A friend even thought that their smartphone has developed a ghost touch issue where the screen registered touch inputs on its own without any input from the user.
