Apple announced its second-generation AirPodson March 20 and for customers who ordered the product the day it was unveiled, deliveries are slated to begin soon. Previously, for consumers who ordered the AirPods on Wednesday, Apple’s website was showing dispatch dates between March 26 and March 28 but now various consumers have been given confirmed shipment dates.

Most Customers Who Ordered the AirPods 2 Can Expect March 26 and March 27 Deliveries

According to some customers in the U.S. and the UK who ordered the AirPods 2 on Wednesday, Apple gave them a confirmed delivery date of Tuesday, March 26 over the weekend. The shipping dates might vary for some consumers depending on the courier. This means that a good many orders might not be dispatched until March 27.

The new AirPods are fueled by the new H1 chip that provides hands-free Hey Siri support, offers better connection speed, and improves battery life. However, a quick look at the specifications reveals that second-generation AirPods are only compatible with iOS 12.2, macOS 10.14.4 and watchOS 5.2. Apple is expected to release the new versions of its operating systems today after its "It's Showtime" event in California.

Previously it was also rumored that the new AirPods would be offered in a new color option and also have health-related features, but that didn’t materialize. However, Apple has also released a new Wireless Charging Casealongside the AirPods 2 which will allow it to charge wirelessly. The shipment time for theAirPodswith Wireless Charging Case has gone upsince the launch, with Apple’s website showing an estimate of 7-10 days.

The new AirPods also work with the standardAirPods Case. Moreover, the original AirPods are also compatible with the new Wireless Charging Case and it can be separately bought from Apple’s website for $79. If you didn’t already know, AirPods are one of Apple’s more popular accessories and it appears that new tech upgrades will make them even more popularin the coming months.
