Clearly, foldable phones are the next big thing, given how every company ranging from OPPO, Samsung, Google, and more, is doing just that. Now, it is time for OnePlus to join the list of these companies with its own foldable phone. Although we do not have any details to share about the upcoming foldable, the company confirmed it at MWC 2023, just a day after it announced the OnePlus 11 Concept phone.

OnePlus finally tells us that their foldable phone will be coming out later this year

Sadly, OnePlus executives did not share much about the OnePlus Fold, we don't even know if that is going to be the name of the upcoming foldable. However, they have discussed how the upcoming foldable will deliver a fast and smooth signature experience. The company has also talked about how they are going to deliver a flagship experience in foldable form and have made some pretty big claims about how they want to create a standard of foldable phones going forward.

Now, how much of that is true, we can't say for sure. Companies tend to make big claims about their products all the time, and while there is nothing wrong with that, failure to deliver on the promises made usually leads to a backlash from consumers around the world. Another thing to make a note of here is the fact that the OnePlus Fold might end up looking a lot like the OPPO Find N2 Fold that was released last year. Why? Well, because the companies are owned by the same group and have strikingly similar-looking software, as well.

Whatever the case is, the OnePlus Fold will be coming out later this year, and we expect the company to start teasing the device in the coming months. Considering how the company looks to be making a big deal out of the foldable, we expect it to start shipping in more countries, including the U.S. And if it does, then OnePlus will have some big shoes to fill given how we have the Galaxy Z phones already making a name in the market, and by the end of the year, we will also have Pixel Fold and OPPO's Find N2 Flip. Needless to say, the OnePlus Fold will be up for a challenge.
