Up until now, the Apple Watch can only pair with an iPhone. However, this will soon change via a software update. According to a new leak, Apple will release a software update in the future that will allow your Apple Watch to pair with multiple devices, including an iPad and a Mac. Scroll down to read more details on the subject.

Apple to release software update which could allow Apple Watch to pair and sync with multiple devices including iPad and Macs

It has been almost ten years since Apple unveiled its wearable, and the product is a huge success. Furthermore, the Apple Watch has become a major name in the health sector, helping users daily track their activity. The wearable has been known to save lives on several occasions. However, the Apple Watch was designed to work with an iPhone alone and operates only on a single device. According to leaker @analyst941 on Twitter, Apple will release a software update in the future, which will allow you to pair your Apple Watch with your iPad and Mac.

Apple is looking to expand the Apple Watch's health-related features to other products, thereby enhancing the ecosystem. At this point, only the iPhone houses the entire health-related data synced with an Apple Watch. You have no option to even view the relevant details on an iPad or a Mac. With the upcoming support, the iPhone, iPad, and Mac will sync the data under the same Apple ID. The changes will take place as soon as the company releases a software update that will allow the Apple Watch to pair with an iPad or a Mac.

Apple Watch for iPad and Mac Pairing

At this point, the iPad can work with an iPhone with respect to the Apple Fitness+ workout routines. Macs, on the other hand, work with the Apple Watch to offer authentication features unlocking and Apple Pay. According to the leaker, Apple is planning to change how the wearable's pairing and syncing process work. The iPhone's data could sync with the iPad and Mac, showing the same details across the board. Moreover, you could have the option to pair your Apple Watch with multiple iPhones and iPads as well.

It is not clear how Apple will implement the changes but could work in a similar method to how the AirPods pairing process works. Additionally, the leaker does not share a timeline of the software update's delivery. If we are lucky, the company could announce the update on stage at its WWDC 2023 event, which is scheduled to take place on June 5. We will keep you guys updated on the latest, so be sure to stick around.
