The rise of ChatGPT has either spooked companies like Samsung or motivated them to create their own versions of generative AI and integrate them into their products. Google was one of the first to introduce Bard as a direct competitor, and now, it appears that the Galaxy S24 series will include devices that are tipped to be the smartest AI smartphones ever.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Exynos 2400 may aid in making the Galaxy S24 lineup ‘smarter’ than the competition
Information received by Sammobile through unnamed sources claims that Samsung is employing techniques to ensure that next year’s Galaxy S24 models are the smartest AI handsets ever. Unfortunately, no update is provided on how the Korean giant intends to make this possible. However, it is mentioned that Samsung will reportedly take features from chatbots like ChatGPT and Google Bard and integrate that functionality into the Galaxy S24 range.
Perhaps the biggest improvements that we should see next year are from Android smartphone chipsets slated to be found in the Galaxy S24 family. As most of you know, Samsung is said to introduce both the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Exynos 2400 versions of its flagship offerings in early 2024, and according to what we have heard, both SoCs bring significant improvements when it comes to AI-related features.
During the Exynos 2400 announcement, Samsung may not have gone into detail about the new chipset, but the company did state that it supports text-to-image AI generation. As for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a previously leaked slide revealed that Qualcomm’s silicon will have on-device AI capabilities, with around 10 billion parameters and an NPU that is 98 percent more powerful and 40 percent more energy efficient.
There is no word on what Samsung intends to do with Bixby in relation to next year’s top-end smartphones, but an earlier rumor talked about the company’s plans to introduce a chatbot similar to ChatGPT later this year. With less than three months remaining for 2024 to kick off, we have yet to see such a product materialize, which means we may see it debut with the Galaxy S24 lineup next year. Of course, treating these rumors with a pinch of salt is always prudent. We will be back with more updates so stay tuned.
