Galaxy S24 Ultra To Feature ‘Upgraded’ Display After Two Generations, But Tipster Leaves Out The Crucial Details
Galaxy S24 Ultra To Feature ‘Upgraded’ Display After Two Generations, But Tipster Leaves Out The Crucial Details-March 2024
Mar 29, 2026 11:24 PM

Samsung has always used exceptionally high-quality panels for the ‘Ultra’ member of its Galaxy S lineup, but those specifications have remained unchanged for a few years. Thankfully, this year, an upgraded display is said to arrive for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, according to one tipster. Unfortunately, the posted information is highly vague, so we dug around a little and saw how the upcoming flagship could differ from the remaining two models launching in early 2024.

Samsung is bringing high-end display features to the less expensive Galaxy S24 models, so the upgraded display of the Galaxy S24 Ultra may include a faster refresh rate & more

On the micro-blogging platform X, Ice Universe likely wants to generate interest in his followers, which is why he has posted that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have an ‘upgraded’ display. Sadly, he will probably provide more details on his claims in a few days because his latest post is highly ambiguous. Still, earlier rumors revealed that Samsung could introduce a higher refresh rateto next year’s devices, bringing those numbers from 120Hz to 144Hz.

However, the majority of users who intend to upgrade to this flagship next year will hardly notice this difference. However, with an increase in the refresh rate, Samsung could also improve the touch sample rate of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, making the smartphone more responsive. Remember that refresh rate and touch sample rate are separate terms and should not be confused with one another. As Samsung is rumored to bring LTPO technology to the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus next year, so there are other ways to differentiate the Galaxy S24 Ultra display.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra display was infamous for causing eye strain, headaches, and other problems thanks to its 240Hz PWM or pulse-width modulation. For those that do not know, PWM is a technology that turns diodes on and off at various rates; the lower the value, the less it costs manufacturers like Samsung. The iPhone 14 Pro Max has a 480Hz PWM, so it causes less eye strain than the Galaxy S23 Ultra. We can see the Galaxy S24 Ultra getting an improvement in this regard.

Also, like the less pricey models, the Galaxy S24 Ultra may also be treated to slimmer bezels, increasing the screen-to-body ratio, resulting in an aesthetics bump. Hopefully, the tipster will provide an update on what that ‘upgraded’ display is, and we will be back with more information for you.
