Despite Android tablets not being as popular as iPads, Samsung has continued the support year after year by releasing some really compelling options to the market. Sure, there are some affordable tablets from the company as well, but for those who are looking for a top-of-the-line experience, we have the S series of tablets. A few days ago, we looked at the leaked specifications of the upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, and today, we have some information on its younger sibling.
The Galaxy Tab S9 is one of three flagship tablets that will come out later this year. I suspect they will be launched or at least announced alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Today, we have our first bit of information on this tablet's battery rating.
The Galaxy Tab S9 will have an 8,160 mAh battery, release date likely to happen between August and September
According to a tip from GalaxyClub, the Galaxy Tab S9 will house an 8,160 mAh battery, which is slightly bigger than the 8,000 mAh battery found on the Galaxy Tab S8. However, this is not something to worry about because the latest flagship tablets will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, which is already battery efficient. Hardware efficiency and software optimization will ensure that the upcoming tablet delivers solid battery life.
Sadly, at the moment, we do not know a lot about the upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 series. However, based on past releases, we can confirm that these tablets will be packing some top-tier specifications, they will also bring S Pen support and high refresh rate displays, and there are rumors that you will get IP67 dust and water resistance, which does seem like a nice addition but why would you want water resistance for a device that is most likely going to stay in your living room or your home office.
Regarding the release date, Samsung has no clear pattern of when the tablets will come out. The Galaxy Tab S7 was released in August, and the Galaxy Tab S8 in February. Considering we have already crossed February and August is still a couple of months away, the release will most likely happen during August when Samsung inevitably launches its new foldable phones. Whatever the case might be, we will keep you posted.
I like how despite iPad's dominance in the tablet market, Samsung still continues to churn out some really excellent tablets. Let's see what the company has for us this year when the tablets finally come out.
