Galaxy Z Flip 5 Concept Renders Show How Samsung Can Improve The Cover Display On The Upcoming Foldable-February 2024
Feb 12, 2026 8:06 AM

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be the foldable flagships to beat when they finally debut later this year. So far, we have heard some pretty interesting details about the upcoming foldable duo, including a larger cover skin for the flipper. Today, we have our hands on some concept renders that take the ideas and bring them to images, and honestly, these renders show just how intuitive the phone could become with the cover display.

Samsung could really knock it out of the park with the cover display on Galaxy Z Flip 5

Now, speaking of cover displays, the Oppo Find N2 Flip does have a big display on its back, but it is not as big and cannot be used the way one would want it. However, it still is a really cool implementation. Shortly after the Find N2 Flip made its debut, we heard that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 could also come with a similar display but larger. Well, the renders we have give us a look at just how the display could end up looking.

You can have a look at the renders below, thanks to YouTuber Super Roader.

Now, although these renders are just in the concept stage, it does give us an idea of how intuitive the cover display of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 can actually be. Sadly, knowing Samsung's software limitations, we are unsure if the company will allow users to use third-party apps on this display. This could very well end up being just a display for notifications, but full functionality on it could make it so much better.

The previous generation of Galaxy Z Flip phones have had cover displays, but they are normally a lot smaller than what the competition is doing. This is an excellent opportunity for Samsung to step up and offer a massive cover display that is covering half of the backside of the Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Sadly, at the moment, we do not have a lot of information available on the upcoming foldable phones. We know that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will launch between August and September, and we will keep you posted as we hear more details about the upcoming foldables.

Do you think a bigger cover display is going to be a reason enough for you to switch to a foldable phone? Let us know what your thoughts are in the comments below.
