Just a few hours after the Pixel Fold leaked in its first official renders, we now have the official renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, showing us the phone from all angles and perhaps giving us a hint that Samsung could end up releasing the foldable phones earlier this year to make sure that it timely compete with Google's offering.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 finally becomes a foldable that can close without any gap but Samsung hasn't made any other innovations

The leaked renders are coming from @OnLeaks in association with SmartPrixand show us the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in the classic Phantom Black colorway. Honestly, I was expecting a design change, but Samsung has done it once again; this is the fifth generation of foldable phones, and the design looks a lot similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Looking at the images, it is safe to say that Samsung has decided to stick to a tried and tested design for the Galaxy Z Fold 5. While the phone looks a lot like its predecessor, there are some obvious changes under the hood that you have to keep in mind. For instance, the dimensions of the phone have changed, and the new dimensions are 154.9 x 129.9 x 6.3mm when unfolded and 54.9 x 67.1 x 13.5mm. The phone is also just 13.5mm thick thanks to the new waterdrop hinge that ensures that there is no gap between the two displays when the phone is folded.

Sadly, not much is known about the Galaxy Z Fold 5 at the time of writing. We do know that it is going to pack the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, and possibly start around $1,799. We will, of course, reveal more details as we get to know about Samsung's upcoming foldable devices, but for now, I would highly suggest that you do not start saving up for a device. Sure, it is going to be the most powerful foldable in the market and will be an instant hit, but it is not what most people are looking for in the first place.

As for the release, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 could release earlier this year in July, this is being done so Samsung could compete with Google in the battle of foldable phones. We will keep you posted as we hear more about what the companies have in store for us.
