Samsung’s next Unpacked event seems to be on schedule, as the company has just announced that it is revealing the Galaxy Note 8 on August 23 at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City. While the company has only said it's hosting a Galaxy Unpacked 2017 event to bring a "highly anticipated addition to the Galaxy Roster," all signs point to the upcoming Note.

The gifthat the company has added to its announcement page features an S-Pen, making it clear that the South Korean tech giant is indeed talking about the new Note.

"On August 23rd, Samsung Electronics will reveal the latest member of the Galaxy family with the greatest multitasking device for those who want to do bigger things with their phone," the announcement reads. It goes on to say:

This highly anticipated addition to the Galaxy roster was specifically designed for people who move through barriers to do more of what matters to them.

To mark the launch of the upcoming device, the company is hosting the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked celebration on August 23, 2017, at Park Avenue Armory in New York City.

The Galaxy Note 8 is rumored to feature a much bigger6.3-inch Infinity Display similar to theGalaxy S8duo, along with its very own S-Pen, Snapdragon 835 processor, a 3,300 mAh battery, and a dual-camera setup. After a year-long focus on Note 7 blowing up everywhere, let's hope Samsung is able to make up for all the previous shortcomings. The company did promise that it has implemented an 8-Point Battery Safety Check procedure to put all the batteries through "extreme testing, inside and out, followed by careful inspection by X-ray and the human eye."

The Galaxy Unpacked 2017 event is just a week ahead of the IFA tech show in Berlin, where the Galaxy maker had unveiled its first ever Note in 2011. Just like the Note 7, Galaxy Note 8 is coming earlier and just a few weeks ahead of the Apple's iPhone 8, which promises to be one of the biggest iPhone releases in years. Whether that's true or not, Samsung will definitely have a few weeksto beat Apple to the punch.
