After an insanely long period of time, Instagram decided it was the right moment to give its service a visual overhaul. Version 8.0 of its app for iPhone brought with it a monochromatic design, which ensures that the focus stays on your content rather than the app itself, while at the same time bringing to the table a brand new icon, ditching the old one completely in the process. Though the new Instagram icon is a sign of relief for a lot of users, but for some it's an eyesore. And if you happen to fall in the latter category of people, then we have good news for you - you can bring the old Instagram icon back on your iPhone without much fuss and jailbreak is not required. But do keep in mind that this trick won't bring the non-monochromatic design back, just the icon.

All set? Let's dive right into the process.

1. With the Instagram app installed on your iPhone, move the icon of the app itself inside a folder, or any place where you would not be able to see it.

2. Tap on this link and open it up in Safari.

3. See the 'Share' button at the bottom of Safari? Tap on it and then tap on 'Add to Home Screen.' Be sure to tap on 'Add' at the top right hand corner to confirm your action.

4. You'll now see the old Instagram icon on your home screen. Simply tap on it and it will launch the app right away. Pretty cool right? We're sure you'll agree.

If you want to remove the newly added 'old' Instagram icon from your iPhone's home screen, then simply tap and hold on the icon itself, and hit the 'x' button. Be sure not to do this on the original Instagram icon otherwise it will uninstall the app altogether. But we're sure you knew that already.
