Google Play Store Could Soon Sync Itself Across Multiple Devices, A Feature We Have Been Using On iOS For Ages-February 2024

Every time you upgrade your Android phone to a new one, your phone knows which apps you are going to need since they are linked to your Google account. However, if you have multiple devices and all of them are using the same Google account, there is no actual way to synchronize the accounts, which means that you have to install all the apps manually on a new device. This can be frustrating for people who have a tablet, a phone, and a smartwatch, as managing apps on every single device individually is not really intuitive. Now, Google Play Store seems to be working on a new feature.

Google Play Store wants to make your experience of installing the same apps on multiple Android phones a lot easier by offering syncing capabilities

It seems like Google has taken a page out of iOS' book and is working on bringing a new feature that would sync Google Play Store across various devices. This means that you will no longer have to manually install every single app on each device. The feature was discovered by Twitter user @ArtemR and here is how it works.

What this means is that you will basically be able to remotely install the app on other Android phones that are using the same Google Account. This is excellent for people who have multiple phones and do not want to go through the tedious process of manually installing the apps on their own. The feature is not new, as it has existed for tablets, TVs, and wearables, but it is nice to see it finally coming to Android phones.

However, it is important to know that the feature is not widely available to everyone at the moment. Therefore, it might not work for everyone. It is still nice to see that Google has actually worked on this feature and brought it to Android phones, something that should have happened long ago.

It also does not look like this Google Play Store feature will be tied to the device, as it looks to be the basic functionality of the app itself and has nothing to do with the custom OS installed by the OEM. This is always a good thing since we often see many Android features not making their way to OEM skins for one reason or another.

What do you think about the ability to sync your Google Play Store apps across multiple Android phones? Let us know in the comments below.
