Here Is Your First Official Look At The Upcoming Pixel 8 Pro-July 2024
Jul 7, 2025 4:06 AM

Google is all set to unveil the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro at the Google I/O 2023. We are expecting some other devices, such as the Pixel Fold and the Pixel 7a, to be announced at the same event. However, we are all excited about what Google has in stores for us with their next flagship phones, and today, we have our first look at one of those devices.

The Pixel 8 Pro renders reveal a familiar look with phase-detect autofocus and a thick camera bump

Reliable leaker OnLeaks has teamed up with SmartPrix and shared the upcoming Pixel 8 Pro renders in what looks like Obsidian color. The phone looks a lot like its predecessor from the front, but with a couple of interesting details on the camera island.

You can check out some high-quality renders of the Pixel 8 Pro below:

The renders give you a very clear look at the Pixel 8 Pro from the front and the back. The back camera island looks to be the same. However, the bump is noticeably thicker this time around. Another interesting change I have spotted in the images below is another hole right below the flashlight. That could very well be the phase detection autofocus or PDAF. Something that is found on the likes of Galaxy S23 Ultra and other premium smartphones. This could very well mean that the upcoming phone might be using Samsung's 108-megapixel or 200-megapixel sensor.

Other details shared by the source tell us that the Pixel 8 Pro will feature a 6.52-inch display with 12mm thickness, including the camera back. There is no word on what the specs are going to be, but the phone is rumored to pack the Tensor G3 chipset, based on Exynos 2300, which is still not out. Whether or not that is true is still something we have to wait and see.

So far, it seems that the Pixel 8 Pro is going to be the definitive flagship from Google this year. Sure, the Pixel Fold is also coming but that will most likely be based on an older Tensor G2 chipset. For anyone looking at the latest and greatest vanilla Android experience, the new Pixel phone is where all the fun is going to be at.

All will be revealed at Google I/O 2023, with the phone releasing sometime later this year. Hopefully, we will have our first look at the vanilla Pixel 8 in the coming days as we move closer to the event.
