One of the things that I love about Android is the accessibility that it provides; literally, everything about the OS can be customized based on your requirements and it is never really complicated, either. However, there are some things about Android that still reel me up every time I am using it. For instance, the process to change the default Google account is needlessly unintuitive and takes away from the fun, laid-back experience that Android is generally known for providing. For those who do not know, when you are setting up your Android phone for the first time, the account you use to log in will be set as your default account. Over time, a lot of us end up adding a second Google account. However, if you want to change the default Google account on your phone, the process has the tendency to make you jump through a few hoops since a lot of people do not even know which one is the default account since there is no label or tag next to an account.

Properly Change the Default Google Account on Your Phone

I have to go through the process of using two Google accounts on my phone, it's a requirement since the work emails are just as important as personal emails and all the other settings are synced, as well. However, not knowing which one is the default one is annoying, so let's get started.

Step 1:On your phone, go toSettings.

Step 2:Scroll down and then tap onGoogle.

Step 3:Tap on the little arrow next to the account name and email address.

Step 4:Now select Manage accounts on this device.

Step 5: This will show you all the added accounts on your phone. Select the Google account that you want to remove.

Step 5:Now tap onRemoveaccount.

That's it, the Google account that you wanted to remove has been removed. Be sure that you are removing the account that you don't want as a default. So, for instance, if you want to be sure that the work account is your default account, make sure that you are removing your personal account instead. In case you want to re-add an account to Google, simply repeat steps 1 and 2, and then choose Add another account.
