Tutorial

Note: Please make sure you have turned off Find My iPhone/iPad before going ahead. You can do this by going to Settings > Apple ID > Find My > Find My iPhone/iPad.

Step 1. Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer using a USB cable. It can be Lightning or USB-C, whichever is applicable to your device.

Step 2. Launch Finder or iTunes - again, whichever is applicable, given which operating system you are running.

Step 3. Once your device has been detected, it will show up in iTunes / Finder. Click on it to reveal more options.

Step 4. As you are going through the available options, hold down the left Option key (Mac) or the left Shift key (Windows) and click on the Restore iPhone/iPad button.

Step 5. A new window will now open up. Just select the iOS 16.3.1 / iPadOS 16.3.1 firmware file you saved on your desktop.

Once everything is done, you can set everything as brand new or restore the backup you took ahead of this tutorial.
