Method 1: Install Android 14 on Google Pixel Devices using recovery
Now, there are two methods of installing Android 14 on Google Pixel, and we will start with the recovery method. For this method, you will need an OTA package for your device, and that is about it. The best thing about this method is that you do not need to unlock your bootloader. You can get it sorted without that.
Step 1:Download the right OTA package for your Pixel phone from here and rename it to something simple like "update." At the same time, install system-wide ADB on your computer from here.
Step 2:Now, on your Pixel phone, head to Settings>About Phone> TapBuild Number 7 times, you might be asked for your PIN or password. Enter that, and you will enable Developer Options.Now, go back toSettings > Developer Options > Enable USB Debugging.
Step 3:Connect your Pixel device to the computer, and your phone will show a prompt. Make sure to authorize that. This only happens if the phone is connected with USB debugging turned on.
Step 4:On your computer, openCommand Promptand typeadb reboot recovery, and hit enter.
Step 5:Your Pixel device should show "No command"on the screen.Press and hold the power button of your phone. While holding the power button, press and hold the volume up button and then let go of both buttons after a few seconds, and you will be in the Android recovery menu,
Step 6:From there, selectApply Update from ADB.
Step 7:Now, on your computer, run the following commandadb devices.
Step 8:Now typeadb sideload "filename".zip (the "filename" indicates the name of the file you downloaded.
Step 9:You should start getting the update installed on your phone. Once the update is installed, simply choose Reboot system nowon your phone, and you will reboot into Android 14.
Method 2: Install Android 14 using Fastboot
This method is for those who have unlocked bootloaders on their Pixel devices. You can use the factory images and flash the Android 14 beta using Fastboot. Since this is a complete flash, we highly advise wiping the entire phone during the flashing process to avoid any compatibility issues that could cause the phone to go into the boot loop.
Step 1:Start by downloading thefactory imageof your Pixel phone from here.
Step 2:Once the package is downloaded, extract the zip file into the ADB/Fastboot folder on your computer.
Step 3:Enable USB debugging as mentioned in the previous method.
Step 4:Connect your phone to the computer and authorize the connection if asked.
Step 5:OpenCommand Prompton your computer and typeadb reboot bootloader.
Step 6:Once your phone boots into the Fastboot mode, simply enter flash-all command in theCommand Prompt.
Step 7:This will initiate the process of flashing the entire firmware onto your phone, and once the script is finished, your phone will automatically reboot, and Android 14 will be ready.
