How To Turn Off Wi-Fi Calling And VoLTE On Pixel 6
How To Turn Off Wi-Fi Calling And VoLTE On Pixel 6-November 2024
Nov 6, 2025 10:46 AM

Your Google Pixel 6 or the Pixel 6 Pro is sadly susceptible to a hack if you have VoLTE or Wi-Fi Calling turned on. Google's Project Zero team recently discovered this, and while the company was quick to patch the vulnerability on the Pixel 7 series of devices, older devices are still waiting for an update and, therefore, are still prone to get hacked.

Aside from the Pixel 6, many other devices are at security risk too, including the Galaxy S22. However, in this guide, we are going to focus on how to turn off Wi-Fi Calling and VoLTE on Pixel 6. I do understand that this feature is useful for a lot of people, but given the current circumstances, it is better to turn these features off.

How to turn off Wi-Fi Calling and VoLTE on Pixel 6

Turning VoLTE off on Google Pixel 6 is no longer an option. The phone received an update back in 2021 that enabled the VoLTE and removed the option altogether. Wi-Fi calling, on the other hand, is still available to almost all Pixel 6 users around the world and, therefore, can be turned off with ease.

Let's not waste time and look at how to turn off Wi-Fi calling on Pixel 6.

Step 1:Start by going toSettingson your Pixel 6.

Step 2:Once there, look forNetwork & internet.

Step 3:Now look forCalls & SMSand tap that.

Step 4:You will see your SIM underWi-Fi Calling; makesure that it is disabled.

One thing that I have to mention here is that if you are not using your Pixel 6 device with a SIM, then you have nothing to worry about the exploit. At the same time, if you are worried that because of the inability to turn off VoLTE, you might get hacked, I would advise taking out the SIM and waiting for Google to release the patch. As far as I know, the patch is currently available on the beta channel but should soon be arriving on the stable channel, as well.

If you are using the Exynos variant of the Galaxy S22 or other affected Samsung devices, you would want to turn off the features as well. You can check our guide for Samsung phones here.
