The CEO of Huawei, Yu Chengdong, took to Weiboin order to share a plan that is expected to give the rest of the phone manufacturers a great deal of competition and trouble. He also talked about the company’s plan to sell 200 million smartphones in 2018 in a 1-minute video.There was an earlier report talking about the company’s ambitious plans, but it should be noted that the Chinese giant managed to ship 150 million smartphone units back in 2017.

Latest Figure Planned by Huawei CEO Could Mean a Growth in Smartphone Shipments by 30 Percent

For the longest time, Huawei emerged as the third largest smartphone manufacturer in Q1 2018, right behind Apple and Samsung. The second quarter figures are not available yet so we will have to wait to see how Huawei fared in the following results.While thefigures are expected to be available soon, let us recap on the devices that have managed to do very well this year.

Firstly, Huawei’s P20 Pro, P20and P20 Lite proved to be very popular, as the companyrevealed earlier this month that all three devices have managed to sell six millionunits and rack up sales worth $15 million in just 10 seconds.Additionally,Huawei’s sub-brand Honor also did very well, and its Honor 10was well receivedin Europe, managing to sell out very quicklythanks to its affordability, unique color combination, design, and performance.Huawei is currently the number one smartphone manufacturer in China, leaving behind OPPO and Xiaomi.

However, the company’s journey is not going to stop here as the Mate 20and the Mate 20 Proare also going to be arriving during the fourth quarter of this year. Both smartphones are said to be armed with the 7nm Kirin 980 SoC,which hasn’t been announced yetbut is said to pack a lot of performance. Seeing Huawei’s past performance and Chengdong’s positivity, it appears that the tech giant might actually be able to reach the 200 million target.
