Huawei Matebook X Has a 91% Screen Ratio, With a Camera Present on the Keyboard-May 2024
May 1, 2025 4:00 AM

Bezels on phones and notebooks are getting thinner and thinner and the latest product to show off a high screen-to-body ratio is the Huawei Matebook X at the MWC 2018 trade show. With a crisp resolution and a camera that pops out of the keyboard, is this going to be the notebook of the future?

Huawei Matebook X Is Also Armed With Impressive Internals With the Company Claiming a 14-Hour Battery Life

With a display size of 13.9 inches and a resolution of 3,000 x 2,000, the Huawei Matebook X is also touting a touchscreen in what appears to be a very thin but premium chassis. Since the bezels are so small, the company had no choice but to incorporate the webcam on the keyboard, which is even more awkward than what Dell used for its webcam placements.

While we have not got around to the entire specifications, if the Matebook X is able to feature a Thunderbolt 3 port, then it is going to do wonders for the machine not just from a productivity perspective but from a gaming perspective too. The discrete GPU is decent but if you want to play demanding gaming titles at the highest settings possible then you will need to attach an eGPU and that can only be done via Thunderbolt 3.

The Matebook X is going to be available during spring and during that time, we will get to know about its pricing. Looking at a premium notebook like this, it is very unlikely that Huawei is going to go easy on the pricing but those bezels sure are tiny.

You’ll definitely be able to get more screen real estate from the notebook that’s for sure.
