Back in September last year. Instagram started testing a feature called Notes. The functionality of this feature was relatively simple, it would let you add short text-based notes that your followers can read, and honestly, the feature took off a lot faster than I thought, with people using it almost every day, with some snippets that sometimes make sense, and other times, it is absolute meme-content. Now, the Meta-owned platform has decided to bring some more functionality to the feature.

Based on information revealed by The Verge, Instagram is working on a new feature that would let you add snippets of your favorite songs to your Notes. This means that along with the 60-character text that the feature currently allows you, you can go ahead and add a snippet of the song that you are listening to. A feature that might not make sense to the older generations but something that would be very popular with the younger generation.

Sure, this seems like a rudimentary thing when compared to countless other features that Instagram could be working on, but it is not like the platform only has one team dedicated to working on new features. For those wondering how this feature works, this is how it looks.

At the time of writing, we are not sure when the feature is going to live, but it seems like Instagram is really banking on this feature, and I am looking forward to seeing how the audience receives it once it is out. Again, I have never used this feature ever since its launch, and I doubt I will, but I guess that is what happens when you are a millennial living amongst a lot of younglings.

In addition to that, Instagram has also been working on other features, such as bringing AI chatbots in DMs, as well as a feature that would let you add polls in comments, and reply with GIFs in comments, too.
