Install ClockworkMod Recovery On Xperia T With Locked Bootloader-May 2024

Although Sony is now officially supporting the Android development community, but still devices like Xperia T don’t have an official bootloader unlock. A locked bootloader means that your OEM or carrier isn’t willing to let you explore the countless possibilities your Android device has to offer. The Xperia T is a great phone empowered with 1.50 GHz Qualcomm Dual-core processor with a 13 Megapixel auto-focus supporting camera.

In case you are a Sony Xperia T user with locked bootloader, then there is some great news for you. Now there is a way you can install ClockworkMod Recovery on a bootloader locked Xperia T. The only catch is that you need to have root on your phone for this to work. This ClockworkMod Recovery is only flashable on certain firmware and apparently people are having issues with running this method on the latest firmware that was released over the air.

For those who don’t know, ClockworkMod Recovery is a custom Android OS recovery that is meant to provide Android users with myriad of features. Features such as backup, restore, custom zip installation, cache and system wiping etc. This custom recovery also enables that users to mount and unmount partitions.

Here is the step by step guide to install ClockWorkMod Recovery on Sony Xperia T with locked bootloaders:

Please note that this method is only applicable if you have root on your phone with locked bootloader. In case you don’t have root, please head to the root thread posted here and get your phone rooted first.

The first step is to download the ClockworkMod installation package for your Xperia T from here.Once done, unzip the contents of the archive to your desktop for ease of access.After this, connect your Xperia T to the computer and make sure that you have the relevant drivers installed.Now double click to launch Install.bat located on your desktopAfter you see the command prompt window, follow on-screen instructions to install the recovery.

And there you go! You now have ClockworkMod Recovery installed on your Xperia T. You can access the recovery by first powering off your device and booting it back on while consistently pressing the volume down button until the phone vibrates.
