Apple just released its iOS 12 beta 2, but more importantly is the hidden truth about the company’s plans for the upcoming Apple Watch models. Thanks to the latest beta, we were able to dig deep and find out which wearables from the tech giant are going to be released in the near future.

Apple Watch Series 4 Expected to Feature a Larger Battery Thanks to 15 Percent Display Size Stretch

According to the iOS 12 beta 2, the new Apple Watch identifiers found are Watch4,1, Watch4,2, Watch4,3, and Watch4,4. These numbers match the existing variants of the Apple Watch Series 3, which are Watch3,1 through 3,4. Additionally, there are references to the model numbers corresponding to the new devices, which include MTUD2, MTUK2, MTX92 and several others.

Apple’s smartwatch has maintained the same design for the past couple of years. For those that don’t know, it is available in 38 and 42mm variants, but this year, Apple could be planning something different. The new wearable, which is expected to be called the Apple Watch Series 4 is going to feature a 15 percent larger display.

This could mean that Apple will be increasing the size of its wearables, and this will translate into featuring better benefits. For one thing, we could be seeing thinner bezels on the smartwatch, reducing the overall footprint but increasing the screen real estate.

Additionally, a bigger display can also mean that the Apple Watch Series 4 will be seeing a bigger battery capacity. Perhaps the improvements in the upcoming watchOS 5 will mean that users will be able to expect battery life that extends for more than 24 hours. Furthermore, Apple could also mean launching an LTE variant of these smartwatches and will come with faster and more reliable connectivity than ever before.

It is possible that the newest iteration of the Apple Watch series will be showcased during the iPhone keynote that will take place during September.
