Apple's WWDC 2023 event is underway, and the company is announcing a wide range of hardware and software upgrades. The company just announced the new 15.3-inch MacBook Air with an M2 chip which is the thinnest 15-inch laptop in the world. iOS 17 will give you a brand-new user experience with numerous design changes and new features. The update introduces a wide range of communication and sharing features. Starting off with the new Phone app, iOS 17 will let users create personalized posters with memojis, photos, and much more. Furthermore, the update also makes room for love voicemail. The feature will basically allow users to see live on-device transcripts of voicemails in real-time. Check out more details below.
Messages on iOS 17 receive a new Search feature, allowing you to easily search through the list of messages. Similarly, the app now also comes with an arrow button to jump to the first unread message in a conversation. Additionally, you also get inline replies through swipe gestures, inline location sharing, and the new Stickers experience.

Other than Messages, iOS 17 comes with a new Check-In feature that gives your location to your family and friends when you reach home. It can also check in if you are late for home. With your consent, the feature can share your location with your friends and family.
The new Phone app, iOS 17 introduces personalized contact posts that you can set for others to see when you call them. There is also a new FaceTime voicemail allowing you to record a short video. The new NameDrop allows users to share phone numbers and emails with nearby iPhones. The latest addition comes as part of the redesigned AirDrop, with sharing media like a breeze. In case the media is left in between, it will continue through the internet. SharePlay API is also adding AirDrop integration.

The keyboard in iOS 17 will receive a new Autocorrect upgrade for better predictions through the language model. The keyboard will be able to learn what each word means, even in slang. The improvements also stretch to dictation and personalized words.
iOS 17 also comes with a new Journal app that uses on-device machine learning to create personalized suggestions for journaling. It includes photos, workouts, interactions as prompts, and much more. These prompts will offer suggestions for you to write. If you are worried about privacy, the Journal app can be locked, and it is end-to-end encrypted.

The platform now comes with a new StandBy Mode that transforms your iPhone into a device that you can use on your nightstand while charging. It offers a full-screen experience with information displayed in landscape mode. You can customize the look of the interface with a clock, photos, widgets, weather, as well as Home controls. The StandBy Mode supports Live Activities with support for Siri. The interface is pretty reminiscent of the Apple Watch Ultra when placed on a charger.
Apart from this, Siri no longer requires you to say "Hey" before initiating a request. This will allow users to make requests with ease. iPadOS 17
Other than iOS 17, Apple has also unveiled its latest iPadOS 17 update to the public. iPadOS takes the iPad even further when it comes to productivity and utility. The first thing Apple announced on stage was the new widgets on the Lock Screen. What this means is that the update will take better advantage of the iPad's bigger display. Since the widgets are interactive, you can touch them to reveal more information. Apple has also added smooth animations with the widgets, which is a major plus as far as the design is concerned.
The iPad now finally features Lock Screen customization controls similar to the iPhone. You can set different wallpapers and set focus modes accordingly. You can also use a live photo as a wallpaper. The Lock Screen and the Home Screen also get support for Live Activities, which behave in a similar fashion to that of the iPhone's Dynamic Island. Multiple timers have also finally made it to the iPad, which is more than a welcome addition.

Another major addition coming with iPadOS 17 is the new Health app. The app will sync with your iPhone to accumulate the required data. The new Notes app features a new way to read, organize and collaborate on PDFs. The Live collaboration in the Notes app also works with FaceTime.
