We were about to see a slightly upgraded iPad 2 this year along with the iPhone 4S but unfortunately, we didn’t. Everyone’s expecting a new iPad along with an iPhone next year but according to a report there’s more than that. We will be seeing an iPad 2S and an iPad 3 next year as Apple is planning to add a low budget iPad to its line.
According to Digi Times the- a Chinese newspaper and onlinewebsitewhich covers the supply side of the computers andelectronics industries- the first iPad will be a slightly modified and upgraded version of the current iPad 2, which will be codenamed as ‘iPad 2S’. It will be equipped with a faster processor and a longer battery life. According to the report it will be available in March 2012.
The other one or the finest one will be ‘iPad 3’. It is likely to launch in Q3 2012 at the earliest, as the report claims and according to rumors citing the iPad 3, it will contain the quad-core A6 chip and 2048x1536 retina display.
DigiTimes says:
Apple’s new generation iPad will enter mass production soon with the launch set for March 2012, according to sources from the upstream supply chain; however, the sources revealed that internally Apple does not view the new iPad product as iPad 3, but rather an upgraded iPad 2 and the real iPad 3 will not be launched until the third quarter of 2012 at the earliest.
It’s hard to believe that two iPads will be shown off in one year but it is possible as we are not talking about the two iPads been unveiled at the same time, unlike the 4th October 2011 rumor of aniPhone 5 and iPhone 4S being unveiled at the same time.
