iPad Pro With 14-Inch Display To Feature ‘Special Version’ Of iPadOS 17, Would Be Able To Drive Two Ultra-High Resolution Displays At Once
iPad Pro With 14-Inch Display To Feature ‘Special Version’ Of iPadOS 17, Would Be Able To Drive Two Ultra-High Resolution Displays At Once-March 2024

Apart from the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models, Apple is rumored to introduce a significantly larger 14.1-inch version that is rumored to run a ‘special version’ of the company’s iPadOS 17 update. Not only this, but it will have another feature that is not yet available to any other iPad.

Bigger iPad Pro model, supposedly arriving in 2024, will be able to output to two monitors either using the ‘daisy chain’ technique or through multiple USB-C ports

Apple’s iPadOS 17 is already rumored to introduce some features present in iOS 16, but according to @analyst941, the company’s software team is apparently taking it one step further thanks to the arrival of the 14.1-inch iPad Pro. A separate rumor claimed that the M3 would be outfittedinto the premium tablet lineup next year, suggesting that the biggest one will be treated to the SoC. It is possible that Apple gives the M3 the ability to drive two high-resolution monitors through a single monitor.

Since current iPad Pro models already feature a Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port, the larger iPad Pro could feature a new display controller that will be able to drive two 6K displays at 60Hz. There are two ways how this could be possible. Either the user could connect a USB-C dongle and use the remaining ports of that dongle to attach the two 6K monitors, though the display accessory will have to support those resolutions. Then again, there is also the possibility that Apple includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports to the iPad Pro, and given its rumored 14.1-inch display, that would not be such a terrible idea.

I’ve heard there’s a special version of iPadOS 17, being developed specifically for larger iPad Pro/Ultra/Studio model(s), there’s a slight change that would give the 14.1” model support for up to 2 6K displays at 60hz.

This signals for a definite M3 Pro SoC in the flagship iPad https://t.co/7FcOyaZFdv

There is no confirmation on what the official name of the larger iPad Pro will be. Our guess is that if the biggest Apple Watch can be named Apple Watch Ultra, then we could be looking at the iPad Ultra, but obviously, there is no way to verify this information at this time. We also do not know what display technology Apple will use on 14.1-inch tablets. The smaller 11-inch and 12.9-inch versions will reportedly switch to OLEDnext year, so it makes sense to use the same technology on the bigger iPad Pro.

Again, there are more unanswered questions right now, so we will wait for more updates to arrive in the future. We may get a sneak preview of this modified version of iPadOS 17 at WWDC 2023, so let us keep our fingers crossed and stay tuned for more updates.
