iPhone 15 Launch Could Be Pushed Back To October, Claims Analyst, But Supply Chain Is Not Facing Any Problems
iPhone 15 Launch Could Be Pushed Back To October, Claims Analyst, But Supply Chain Is Not Facing Any Problems-February 2024
Feb 12, 2026 3:09 AM

The iPhone 15 lineup was said to enter mass production in August, suggesting that there will be ample supply for when Apple officially announces four new models sometime in September. However, one analyst has commented that the new family will be delayed until October, though it is surprising to see that no reasons were provided.

Analyst also believes that the delay will have a negative impact on Apple’s iPhone shipments for the fiscal year ending September 2023

Checking with the supply chain, Bank of America analyst Wamsi Mohan believes that the iPhone 15 series will be delayed by weeks, which is similar to a prediction that the individual made when the iPhone 12 materialized back in 2020, according to AppleInsider. Though he was correct on the previous occasion, this time, there is no pandemic for Apple and the company’s supply chain to combat and force a delay on the flagship iPhone launches.

Additionally, Mohan has not provided any strong reasoning for the iPhone 15 family to witness a delay, though Apple did run into a small hiccup with the non-Pro models. It was reported that the iPhone 15’s and iPhone 15 Plus’ stacked camera sensor supply chain was experiencing low yields, which would have resulted in production problems. However, Apple’s suppliers seem to have resolved the issue, so there should not be any setbacks in the launch timeline.

Mohan’s research note seen by Barron’s also mentions that the analyst estimated a drop in Apple’s September quarter to $87.1 billion, which is below the average expectation of $91.6 billion, and this is due to a decline in iPhone shipments as a result of the delay. However, with launch preparations in fifth gear and with Foxconn focused on increasing its workforce to 10,000 people a day, it is likely that Apple’s supply chain will be able to keep up with demand once it picks up in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Luxshare is also said to be the secondary assembler behind Foxconn to step up in case of unforeseen events that happened last year during the holiday quarter, so from this angle, it appears that Apple has everything sorted out. AppleInsider does report that while Mohan is well regarded as an Apple analyst, his track record is not as solid as other individuals, so it is best to treat this prediction with a pinch of salt for now.
