iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max Could Be Configured With 2TB Of Internal Storage, But With An Obvious Price Hike-February 2024
Feb 11, 2026 10:34 PM

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipped with up to 1TB of internal storage, but Apple is rumored to raise that number to twice the amount, but only on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. For those that need it, future customers will be able to purchase 2TB versions of the upcoming flagships.

Regular iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus models might be retained at 1TB storage, Apple to likely stick with NVMe, but a different type

New findings published on ‘yeux1122’s Blog’ and spotted by MacRumorsreveals that Apple is rumored to substantially increase the internal memory on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. While it is unlikely that the 2TB variants will be the most popular, doubling the storage from 1TB on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max presents a wonderful opportunity for content creators and videographers who want to transition to the iPhone for the majority of their work.

Since an iPhone does incredibly well in still imaging and video capture, it would have been the ideal handset for this customer base; combine that with 2TB of storage, plus iCloud storage, and these will be an instant hit with those requiring insane amounts of internal capacity. However, one thing to note is that while Apple will probably stick with the NVMe standard for those high read and write speeds, incorporating 2TB of internal memory means the firm may switch to QLC (Quad level cell) NAND flash.

This type of NAND flash means Apple can use more bits per cell, increasing the total storage in a smaller cell. However, QLC NAND flash has less write endurance, meaning it will wear out faster compared to TLC (Triple level cell) or MLC (Multi-level cell). Fortunately, do not let this drawback prevent you from upgrading this year because it takes years for QLC storage to completely wear out, so you have nothing to worry about.

As for the regular iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, Apple will likely only offer up to 1TB versions for these two models, but even that will be overkill for most customers. Of course, with an increase in storage comes an increase in pricing, and with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max already rumored to start from $1,099 instead $999, customers have to contemplate if they are willing to spend this much a few weeks from now.
