The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus received pretty good feedback when it comes to repairability. For the first time since the launch of the iPhone 4S, the iPhone can be opened from the front and back, allowing easier access to the internals for repairing purposes. The iPhone 14 Pro models lacked the option and were fairly difficult to repair but Apple is looking to change this approach. A new report suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be 'easier to repair' similar to the iPhone 14 models.
Apple will make the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max easier to repair which can be opened from the front and the back
When it comes to repairability, it is a very tedious task to open up the latest iPhone models. This makes the process difficult and could cause further damage to the device. Henceforth, Apple is looking to offer a more convenient way of opening up the iPhone 15 Pro for repairing purposes, allowing easier access to the internals from the front and the back. The information was shared by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg in his latest Power On newsletter, suggesting that the company will redesign the chassis for this specific purpose.
To enable easier access to the internals, the chassis needs to be redesigned. The clumps and screws will be arranged in a fashion allowing the repairer to open up the iPhone 15 Pro from the back glass or display on the front. For instance, if the device's panel needs to be changed, the repairer can pull the display out and swap it with a new one, In the case of a battery replacement, the device can be opened up from the back. The process to repair a device would become easier and the change is expected to take place with the launch of the iPhone 15 Pro models.
The changes would also make repairs cheaper for individuals. For instance, a damaged back glass on the iPhone 14 can be replaced for $169 to $199 compared to $499 to $549 for the 'Pro' models. Apple is looking to introduce major changes with the entire iPhone 15 lineup later this year. However, the company will increase the price of the handsets.

The standard models will come with a Dynamic Island on the display, while the iPhone 15 Pro models will feature a grade 5 titanium finish. All four models will also come with improved camera hardware with major changes expected in this department oriented toward the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The 'Pro' models will also replace the Mute Switch with an Action button which will house numerous shortcuts.
