Newdetails regarding the iPhone 6c have surfaced today, with a new reportrevealing the specs of the fabled device while also revealing that the handset will be powered by an A8 chip instead of A9.

Despite missing out on an announcement this September alongside the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, the iPhone 6c is refusing to go away from making the headlines. Today, a report from Macotakara has surfaced, and they claim that the fabled device - the iPhone 6c - will be powered by Apple's chip from last year, the A8. Keep in mind that this is the very same chip that powered the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Now interestingly, if this does turn out to be true, then it means that the iPhone 6c will come with 1GB of RAM onboard instead of 2, due to the A8's architecture. While some might believe that the less amount of RAM could be a deal breaker for a lot of potential buyers, but given the fact that the iPhone 6 was a performance powerhouse, hence the iPhone 6c shouldn't even flinch when auser throws something intensive on it.

On the wireless front, it's being reported that the device will feature 802.11ac WiFi, which means that it will be faster when compared directly to the iPhone 5c. Apart from that, the iPhone 6c is also rumored to feature Bluetooth 4.1.

On the camera front the device is said to feature an improved FaceTime camera module and a new iSight rear facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture for brighter and detailed shots. We're certain that the megapixel count will sit at 8, and that's more than enough for an average photographer.

Macotakara also went on record to state that the iPhone 6c is internally being dubbed as the 'iPhone 5s Mark II.' If that's the case then it's highly likely that the iPhone 6c would be a repackaged iPhone 5s and might even come with Touch ID onboard. But of course, the Touch ID bit is speculation at this point, and we'll wait for a solid report to confirm that.

It seems likely that the iPhone 6c won't see the light of day this year at least, with the device rumored to make an appearance inmid 2016. It's rather interesting to see that Apple hasn't let go of the idea of having a plastic laden smartphone in the market, and we're certain that there's good reason behind it as well.
