The iPhone X is by far the most expensive iPhone we’ve seen to date, but it offers a myriad of upgrades that other devices have not been able to produce. Lots of consumers will often upgrade to a better handset in order to experience the optics side of things, and according to the latest article published by Consumer Reports, Apple’s iPhone X is currently the best smartphone camera out there.

All of Apple’s Latest iPhone Family Occupy the Top Three Positions - Galaxy S9 & Galaxy S9+ Could Very Well Exceed That in Upcoming Tests

It is safe to say that Consumer Reports might be preferring Apple’s or Samsung’s devices since these are the only two companies who’s smartphones are present in the list below. Regardless, you cannot deny the strides that both manufacturers have taken in improving the image and video quality of their respective smartphones.

With the announcement of the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, Apple became the first company to unveil smartphones that could record at 4K and at 60 frames per second. Lots of handsets were limited to 4K video recording at 30FPS, so looking at this leap taking place is a huge achievement.

In addition, the seamless integration between hardware and software allows the iPhone X to produce DSLR-level effects, even though it will still take a while for smartphones to improve in the low-light segment. Both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are going to be officially released next month and their variable aperture feature should play a huge role in improving image quality.

Will these two phones finally be able to get the better of Apple’s 5.8-inch crown jewel? Looks like we will be finding out in the near future.
