Google is hosting its annual Google I/O 2023 on May 10th, later this year, and we all know that the event will be focused on a lot of hardware and software. Google will possibly announce the Pixel Foldand the Pixel 7a, along with a glimpse at Pixel 8 series that will be released later this year. Now, a new leak shines some light on the first Google foldable along with Google's affordable Pixel phone.

The Google Pixel Fold is going to cost a pretty penny, launching in the second week of June

The leak is coming from reliable winfutre.de that confirms some information about the upcoming Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a.

The leak reveals that the Pixel Fold, now a confirmed name, will be released in June and will be available in two colors. The phone will be offered in base 256GB storage upon release. Google is calling the "Carbon" and "Porcelain," the latter of the two corresponds with the leaked renders showing the phone in a shimmery white color. I am interested to see what the Carbon is going to look like. The source also reveals that the foldable will be priced at a hefty €1,700 or around $1,824. This is around the $1,799 retail price of Galaxy Z Fold 4, and possibly Galaxy Z Fold 5 is slated for later this year.

As for the Google Pixel 7a, the leak suggests that the phone will be available in four colors; Arctic Blue, Carbon & Cotton, and possibly Jade. In addition, the phone is going to retail for €500, which is around $536, a big premium over the price of the Pixel 6a, but the prices might be different when the phone hits the U.S. The phone will also be available only in base 128 gigs of storage.

Regarding the release date for the Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a, both phones are said to release in the second week of June. We assume that Google will officially announce these devices at the upcoming Google I/O 2023 on May 10th, put them on pre-order, and start shipping them out in the second week of June.

Whatever the case, it seems like Google is eager to launch the Pixel Fold. However, it is about time for the Pixel 7a, considering how the phone has extensively leaked in the past. As far as the price of the foldable, Google will have to present a pretty strong case for the phone, considering how it will compete with Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Fold 5 once it releases.
