While the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will largely look identical to the previous generation of foldable phones. The same cannot be said about the Galaxy Z Flip 5, as the phone is going through a major makeover in terms of design. It is safe to say that Samsung, more or less, has finalized the core design, but the Flip is actually getting a proper cover screen this time around.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 finally gets the much-needed design upgrade that it should have had since day one

Yesterday, we found out that the phone will have a 720p+ cover screen and will support widgets and many other features, and today, the Galaxy Z Flip 5's protective cover has leaked, confirming that Samsung has indeed changed the external screen of the phone.

Now, the picture is coming from renowned tipster and leaker Ice Universe that shows a transparent hard shell cover for the Galaxy Z Flip 5, and there is a very obvious cutout for the external display of the phone, along with the camera island that goes on the top of the device. Have a look at the image below.

The leak finally confirms that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will have a big enough external display. Based on the information we have received, it will be a 3.4-inch screen, which is plenty for something that will mainly be used for widgets and notifications.

Earlier today, we heard that Samsung was planning on releasing both phones earlier this year, and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will hit the stores in August, with the end of July being the day the phones will be officially unveiled.

At this point, there is not much that we don't know about Samsung's upcoming foldable phones. We will keep you posted as we start hearing more details about these devices but do expect Samsung to make some significant changes to these devices, at least in terms of hardware and durability.
